what is the EU Ecolabel ?
EU Ecolabel is a certification which identifies environmental excellence across the entire lifecycle, from raw materials through to production to disposal. rigorous environmental criteria must be met with an emphasis on reducing emission, eliminating hazardous chemical use, and efficient use of resources. Lenzing’s Ecovero™ is EU Ecolabel certified.
what is Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX® ?
OEKO-TEX Standard 100 is a globally recognized certification that tests and certifies products are free of harmful substances and harmless to human health.
what is FSC and PEFC ?
FSC and PEFC are the marks of responsible forestry.

the FSC label helps to;
- protect biodiversity
- protect animal habitats
- protect old growth forest
- ensure zero deforestation
- protect Indigenous people's rights
- ensure fair wages and safe working conditions

the PEFC is a global non-profit organization that promotes sustainable forestry through its independent third party certifications. they take a local and multi-stakeholder approach to protecting forests globally.

over 99% of the wood pulp used by Lenzing is certified by the FSC and PEFC or examined under their standards.

what is a cellulose based fabric ?
cellulose based fibres are made from trees or woody plants and then chemically treated to form fibres. without proper controls and processes the production of cellulose fibres can be harmful to the environment and endangered forests. this is why Laterdays uses Ecovero™, a certified eco-friendly cellulose fabric.
what is Canopy ?
Canopy is a non-profit environmental organization that protects the world’s forests, and the species that inhabit them. Canopy focuses on supply chain innovation by working with some of the largest brands in food, fashion, beauty and care to create eco-responsible solutions. Canopy created the Hot Button Report, which is a widely accepted tool in the fashion industry to understand the impact of man-made cellulose fabrics.
what is a green shirt supplier ?
Canopy audits and rates producers based on their sourcing practices, chemical use, chemical emissions, environmental leadership, transparency and more. based on these ratings, producers are given a colored rating. at Laterdays, we only work with “green shirt” suppliers, which meet the highest standards outlined in the Hot Button Report.
what is viscose ?
Laterdays uses Ecovero™, a branded variation of viscose. viscose is a man-made cellulose fabric made from wood pulp. generic viscose is not traced or controlled; it can be produced using irresponsible chemical disposal practices and sourced from endangered forests, ultimately harming the environment.
does viscose shrink ?
viscose can shrink if not cared for properly, which is why we have pre-shrunk our Ecovero™ viscose fabric to reduce the amount the garment will shrink in the wash. it is important to care for your garment as directed on the care label to ensure the longevity of your Laterday’s piece.
how long does Ecovero™ take to decompose ?
in the right conditions, Ecovero™ decomposes in 3 months in comparison to polyester which takes up to 200 years to decompose (don’t worry, your garment won't decompose in your closet, the fabric only decomposes in proper conditions).
