fair and ethical manufacturing is extremely important to us, especially since it is unfortunately not the norm within the fashion industry. we partner with manufacturers that compensate their employees fairly, treat them with respect and operate a safe and clean working environment.

our manufacturer
for our first collection, we partnered with a Canadian manufacturer. during the pandemic we were unable to travel internationally to visit manufacturers overseas and were not comfortable blindly producing. manufacturing our first garments locally ensured that we are producing ethically, allowing us to visit the facility and meet the people creating our items. governed by Canadian labor laws, and an explicit commitment by our manufacturer, every person who is part of our garment production team is treated and compensated fairly.
benefits of local manufacturing
local manufacturing allows us to produce everything in small batches to minimize waste. once we receive feedback from you, we’ll decide if we should produce more. this way we only create what we’ll actually sell and avoid overproduction. our manufacturer uses digital software to maximize fabric usage and reduce waste from cutting. manufacturing locally allows us to decrease the distance our garments need to travel to reach you, ultimately cutting transportation emissions and reducing the garments impact.
what is the ILO ?
